A while after I started working on the Linux port of NaaLaa, the webpage was hacked and completely demolished. The old forum could not be saved.

The new webpage will go live when the Linux port is ready. I'm done with the "hard" work and currently rewriting the editors for tile- and raycaster maps.

You can download a pretty-much-fully functional version of NaaLaa for Linux (64 bit) from this link: http://naalaa.com/tmp/naalaa_180115.tar.gz

Don't be afraid to make re-posts from the old forum, if you had posted some interesting code there Smile

Hey Marcus! Glad to see you're still working on NaaLaa. I've tried the new Linux version on Solus Linux and it seems to be working fine. No need for any dependencies. The editor takes virtually no time to start - you just click and it's there. Both compilation process and created programs are fast. All the demos and games work without problems. Great work, man! Thanks, and thanks for testing :Smile

It's pretty much just an editor for raycaster maps that's missing now before the first release. If any program ran slowly from NED it was probably because NED was hogging cpu power, I've made it go half to sleep when it loses focus now.

Hi Marcus - good to see that this project is still alive, but such a shame that the old forum has gone - it was a great resource. I have a bit more time on my hands nowadays (retired) so I would like to use NaaLaa as an excuse to try Linux again (to challenge the brain) - I've toyed with Linux a few times over the last 20 or more years but up until now have always gone back to Windows. It'll be nice to get re-acquainted with NaaLaa too - I must admit that I haven't used it much for a couple of years but I think it's time to have a fresh look.......

Ah, great to see you're back Smile  And congratulations to the retirement (I've got to keep on working for ... 26 more years)! I really like the games you made with naalaa - that puzzle platformer thingy was awesome!  I will add a games section to the webpage again and try to re-compile most of the games for Linux.

I just uploaded the first "real" version, and you can find it on the front page (http://naalaa.com). Just now, before uploading it, I pretty much re-wrote the parser for logical expressions, because of a bug that was reported on the old forum. Hopefully it works now.

The same with me. And, if I remember correctly, I'm older than you...

Marcus, a couple of years ago I made a website for NaaLaa. It was online for some time, before John finally decided to use instead  something provided by his hosting company (he found it easier to edit). I still have a copy of that website and decided to make it up to date. I'll email it to you. Have a look and if you like it, feel free to use it (just upload all the files to your hosting).

I love it, simple and clean! I'm uploading it tonight Smile  Thanks a lot for making it!

Question
Excuse me, Marcus.  I have a question regarding Linux's release:

Is there going to be a v1.0.1 for Windows later on?
