I use ngui, which is written in naalaa (it's in the lib folder of N7). So you can only use it in n7 programs.

Yep, haha, the text editor "widget" is probably half the library code. But it was a fun challenge to write it.

In N6 I used a richedit control via IUP, but it was really messy to make undo/redo ignore text formatting changes  (syntax highlighting). I believe the undo issue in richedit was the reason (or one of the reasons) Scintilla was developed?

I think that i will stay with Scintilla ...it is standard and easy to use and implement things
there is no need to discover hot water for hobby usage
do i have right?
