Interesting fact: Not all boomerangs are designed to return. Most are used to hunting and dancing (two are struck together to provide rhythm as well as two sticks)

I remember getting a cheap plastic boomerang when I was a wee kid. I think it was supposed to return, but it didn't. It landed in our neighbour's garden on the first throw. And that neighbour was a really old and evil woman. If a football, a kite or any toy ended up on her side of the hedge, it simply didn't exist anymore.

All went well for many minutes, until I threw the boomerang again and hit an error:

line 1    Division by zero.   Mystery to me. Could be hours before that happens again.

My guess is that it has to do with the sorting or rendering of the "3d" sprites in the GLOOM library, probably some distance or scale calculation going wrong when a sprite is at the same position as the view point. I'll fix that.

I really need to get line numbers working when errors occur in a library ...

Edit: Everything seemed fine in the library. So my next guess is that the size of the boomerang's movement vector was zero in some specific situation, causing a division by zero when casting a ray to check for wall collisions. Easily fixed.

Hmm... No. Because crocodiles spend most of their time in the water. The aerodynamic properties of a boomerang just don't seem to work all that well in water... lol  Kangaroos and Emus are the usual targets. Those boomerangs do not return. But most times they are speared. Besides, most Australian tend to steer clear of crocs, maybe it's because of all those... TEETH!!! lol

Believe it or not I STILL play doom via dosbox and I WISH it had autosave... Manual save/load anytime but unfortunately no autosave... *sight*

So far, this dungeon game, is going VERY well... Looking forward to the next 'phase' (as long as I don't get killed off... lol)

Yep. I know the feeling of saving often... lol... But, I think you may be on to something, having a save option in the game... Maybe if we beg and grovel the author may take pity on us and add it to the game? I know a place where you can get cheap knee-pads... lol

Being able to save is a must, I know. But it will be kind of tricky to get it working. Probably I just need to save the seed value to regenerate the dungeon itself, but then there are enemies, door states and such. It's a good challenge

Because of the new European GDPR law, I haven't had much time over for fun (naalaa), lots of overtime at work. But now things are looking better

Yes. Good luck with the "saving" game. Most games, like Doom for example, can be saved any time but Doom does not use random maps. Perhaps, if saving cannot be achieved, then maybe a few extra "assists" eg: more health or double damage etc. As long as I don't get killed off... lol
