Suggestion: other classic games in QuickBasic 4.5
#1
Hello...I discovered that there were other classic games in version 4.5: NIBBLES, QBLOCKS, QBRICKS, QMAZE, QSHIP, REVERSI.

Marcus is writing a NaaLaa version of Gorillas. Other NaaLaa experts can try to write the above classic games in NaaLaa. Quite challenging. The finished games will become interesting examples in future versions of NaaLaa! Good luck.

Version 4.5 of QuickBasic is on this page. I believe that this version can be run under DOSBox.

I am not a fan of Microsoft, but I do confess, that Nibbles (and games from and before that time), were fun to play....
Nibbles was released in 1991 for MS-DOS but before that, Microsoft had release 4 versions of its Flight Simulator (from 1982 to 1989).
I do not remember how many times I have played Gorillas (1991)... Bananas that explode! Who knew? I will not comment on the 1981 release of Donkey... Ok. It was lame. A racing car dodging cattle... Each level the speed increases... But it was frustratingly fun...

It would certainly be fun, and a challenge, to see some version of those classics reproduced in Naalaa... (of course modified and renamed to avoid copyright... Moo Ha Ha Ha...)

Thanks for the memories!

Way back, Marcus, made a "snake" game using N6 (at least I think it was N6 - could have been N5)

This is my interpretation of his game for N7. Move using the arrow keys. Eat the green "food" (grow longer). If the red "food" is eaten, the player's speed increases. Hit the screen boundaries or your own "tail" - death and immediate restart - high score is preserved for the games played - but not saved.... Moo Ha Ha Ha

It's not "exactly" nibbles....

I see! May you try to make Nibbles in NaaLaa? The process of making this classic game may be quite fun!
